Builder Magazine, one of the housing industry’s top printed publications, published their annual list of America’s Biggest Builders last month. The list uses data from 2012 and ranks builders, from one to one hundred, based on their total number of closings in the United States. The list also features information about each company’s revenue, where they built and what type of housing projects they built.

Clinching the top spot on the list of 100 biggest builders in America was D.R. Horton, followed by Pulte Group in the number two spot. Lennar Corp., NVR and KB Home rounded out the top five.

Unfortunately, this list of 100 builders only includes those companies that build homes on-site; modular home builders and other system-built housing manufacturers have not been included in this annual listing.

However, Ritz-Craft is proud to say that we built and delivered 603 homes in 2012 – making us the rightful number 49 on this list of the 100 Biggest Builders in America. What we’re even more proud of is the fact that this number is up over 30 percent from 2011, when we built and delivered 456 modular homes.

Do you think modular/system-built home manufacturers should be included in Builder Magazine’s annual publication of America’s Biggest Builders? Give us your opinion in the comments section below.
